Dark Souls II Finally Revealed For Xbox One, PS4

Yesterday Bandai Namco Games revealed its “last-gen” blockbuster hit, Dark Souls II, is getting an enhanced “new-gen” version – Scholar of the First Sin. It was only a matter of time, right?

The updated game will arrive on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One early next year – April 7, 2015 to be exact.

Dark Souls II arrived earlier this year and served almost as the “swan song” for third-party titles on the PS3 and Xbox 360, as they all but officially became “last-gen” consoles in 2014. Scholar of the First Sin brings the “complete Dark Souls II experience” to PS4, PC and Xbox One, with enhanced visuals and presentation. Also featured are all three DLC packages for Dark Souls II – Crown of the Sunken King, Crown of the Old Iron King, and Crown of the Ivory King.

Check out the trailer below:

Scholar of the First Sin will come with tweaks to mechanics such as balancing, new story events and NPCs, rewritten item descriptions and an improved matchmaking component. Perhaps the best news of all; those that already own the original Dark Souls II will be able to upgrade to the new version with a future patch. The release of this patch (and its price) are currently unclear.
