2K Games’ Mafia franchise is making a comeback. The company announced today that Mafia III will be unveiled during a world premiere on August 5 at 8 am Eastern Time on YouTube.

Mafia II was last released nearly five years ago on PC, PS3 and Xbox 360. It is a series that has long had a cult following, often getting overshadowed by Take-Two’s other big sandbox series, Grand Theft Auto.
The image announcing Mafia III shows a group of four people — hidden in the shadow of their cars’ headlights — huddled around a man on his knees near what appears to be an alligator-infested swamp.
