Most gamers have heard of the Mario Party series by now. Entering its fourth installment, one would anticipate it is probably more of the same. Having not had the privilege of playing any of the previous three (I never had an N64), all I have to compare it to is Pac-man Fever, which is a decent game but nowhere near the quality of this one.

Mario Party 4's concept is simple, you choose one of a group of Mario characters and walk around a game board trying to collect as many stars as you can in a certain quantity of turns. You also try to accumulate coins both through board events and mini-games. The game play is decent, but is certainly more entertaining in multiplayer than one player vs. the computer.

The graphics of this game are certainly better than Pac-man Fever, but they are far down from the absolute beauty that is Wind Waker. It did come out a few months before Wind Waker, however, so it can be forgiven. The graphics for the most part are on par with Super Mario Sunshine, and that's not too bad. The sound is decent and does what it needs to do, but not much else.

The game has good replay value if you have friends to play it with, but if you have no friends it will get old really fast. If you have no friends to play this with then avoid it and all games like it.
