Microsoft announced XSN at this year's E3 and to tell you the truth, I thought it meant they would improve their sports franchises. I guessed wrong. Fever is still the rotting pumpkin from years past and here’s why.
Visually, this game is in last place. The faces look amazing, but everything else just plain stinks; character models, fields, stadiums, crowds, even the ball. It all is terribly looking. The presentation is horrible and so is the title. Fever sounds nothing like Madden or ESPN. Commentary is craptastic and Microsoft only used the most basic sound effects.
Game play is simple and not so simple. On one hand, offense is easy, but can be too easy. Throwing the long ball every play can get you everywhere. Read and lead passing in this game is awesome. Defense is total crap though. Defensive backs can’t cover receivers at all, which means the computer will walk all over you.
Nothing has been added to this franchise, nor improved, since the original. Over all, Fever is far behind the competition and really has a lot of catching up to do. Even with XSN being awesome, it won’t keep you playing this game at all.
