Speedrunners raise money for charity on Twitch

Calithon 2019 is taking place over the next three days. Never heard of Calithon? It’s an annual speedrunning marathon with proceeds from the event supporting charity.

The speedrunning marathon – which is being broadcast over Twitch – hopes to raise $50,000 for Direct Relief, an international humanitarian medical aid organization. As our sister site Video Game Streamers reported earlier today:

[Direct Relief’s] headquarters is home to a 155,000 square-foot warehouse that acts as the largest distribution hub for humanitarian medical aid in the United States, providing medical aid to recipients in 100 countries and all 50 US states.

Calithon begins today and runs through Sunday night. Check out the full story here.
