The Nintendo Wii is about to launch on November 19, 2006. Between now and then, Game Freaks 365 is going to list 19 reasons each day for why you should buy a Wii.
#4 It’s affordable – The Nintendo Wii was labeled “small, quiet, and affordable” by Nintendo. Compared to the boisterous launch of the Sony PlayStation 3 and Microsoft’s Xbox 360, the Nintendo Wii truly is small, quiet and affordable. The Nintendo Wii is launching at a price point of $249.99. For $249.99, you get the Wii console, a copy of Wii Sports, a sensor bar, an AV cable for your standard-def television, a Wii stand, a Wiimote and a Nunchuk controller.
Other than the less-than-pricey console bundle, games have an MSRP of $49.99, meaning most Wii games will cost at least $10 less than standard PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 titles, and as much as $20 less than the so-called “Special Edition” games. Virtual Console games will run anywhere from the Virtual Point equivalent of $5-$10, depending on which past console you select the game for. To really enjoy the Wii, you don’t have to spend a lot of money. It truly makes the perfect Christmas gaming item.
