#9 Huge launch window – Just like a well-balanced meal, every gamer needs a nice variety of games to tide them over. Nintendo’s Wii is about to launch with a bevy of first and third party titles likely to make any hardcore gamer salivate. The big boys are obvious: Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, Wii Sports, Red Steel, Excite Truck, Madden 07 and Call of Duty 3. Ones that might go under your radar are Ubisoft’s Rayman Raving Rabbids, Atari’s Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 2, Atlus’ Trauma Center: Second Opinion, Konami’s Elebits, Activision’s Rapala Fishing and SNK’s Metal Slug Anthology. With around 30 titles by year’s end and an offering of 30 Virtual Console games as well, the Wii’s launch is looking huge indeed.
