Perhaps the worst kept secret in the industry right now is that Sony will be announcing a $400 PS3 in the weeks to come, just in time for the holiday season rush. Not only did a FCC filing reveal the system existed, known as the CECHG01 model, but the model number appeared on a Sony site, at least temporarily.
If you take a visit to http://www.bluraysavings.com/ you will see model numbers for all of those products, except the PlayStation 3, which has since been changed. The deal is for 5 free Blu-Ray movies if you purchase a PlayStation 3 or any of those participating Blu-Ray players between October 1, 2007 and January 31, 2008.
The 18 titles offered are: Pirates of the Caribbean: Curse of the Black Pearl, Wild Hogs, American Psycho, Chain Reaction, The Devil’s Rejects, Flight of the Phoenix, Full Metal Jacket, Hart’s War, The Last Waltz, Omen 666, The Patriot, The Prestige, Species, Stir of Echoes, Superman: The Movie, SWAT, Swordfish and Ultraviolet. These Blu-ray Discs will be available via mail-in redemption.
