A Total War Saga: Troy launches today, and it’s free for a limited time

A Total War Saga: Troy

Sega today launched A Total War Saga: Troy. Best of all, it’s free if claimed during the first 24 hours.

The game launches exclusively via the Epic Games Store. Sega says that players who download the game within the first 24 hours of launch get the game for free, no strings attached. It’s yours to keep.

According to developer Creative Assembly, the game “plunges players into the legendary Bronze Age conflict of the Trojan War.” Players assume the roles of Achilles, Hector, and many other legendary heroes. You fight to defend the great city of Troy or raze it to the ground.

The Total War Saga is a spinoff of their popular Total War franchise. It focuses on specific geographic areas and time periods, putting them under a microscope. The first in the spinoff series was Total War Saga: Thrones of Britannia.

A Total War Saga: Troy made its debut in a dramatic trailer last September. Homer’s Iliad is the inspiration for the game, which takes place in modern-day Greece. The game puts the fate of Aegean civilization in the player’s hands. It’s expected to come to Steam this time next year.
