The developer of Prototype 1 and 2, as well as past games like Scarface and entries in the Crash Bandicoot series, has drastically downsized. Radical Entertainment, a subsidiary of Activision Blizzard, has been in the business for over twenty years. The layoffs will affect about 90 employees.

Original reports suggested that the studio was going to shut down, but the L.A. Times reports that 86 percent of the staff is being laid off. “Having explored a wide range of options, Activision believes that the only option is a significant reduction in staff,” the company said in a statement. Poor sales of Prototype 2 were to blame for the layoffs.
