Analogue Pocket

The Analogue Pocket all-in-one retro handheld is not coming out until October 2021 at the earliest, the company announced today.

If you’re not familiar with it, the Analogue Pocket is a handheld that looks a lot like the original Game Boy. It lets you play actual cartridges for classic systems out of the box including the Game Boy, Game Boy Color, and Game Boy Advance. You can also play Sega Game Gear, Neo Geo Pocket, Neo Geo Pocket Color, and Atari Lynx cartridges with adapters.

Here is the official statement from the company explaining the delay:

The current global state of affairs continues to create supply chain challenges outside of our control. There have been sudden and severe electrical component shortages as well as logistical issues leading to a domino effect of challenges for nearly everyone in the industry.

We’re working hard to get Pocket out as fast as possible and we appreciate your understanding and patience. An email is being sent to everyone who pre-ordered Pocket. If you have any questions about your pre-order or would like to cancel at anytime for a full refund, please contact Analogue Support at or by email at

My Take

The delay is a bummer for what is a promising project. However, a whole lot of companies are experiencing supply issues right now. So it’s not terribly surprising that they need to push this back.

What do you think? Did you pre-order an Analogue Pocket? We’d love to hear from you in the comments!
