Angry Birds is coming to Topgolf venues this fall

Angry Birds Topgolf

Topgolf and the creators of Angry Birds are partnering for a unique interactive golfing experience.

Rovio says that the experience utilizes Topgolf’s Toptracer ball-tracing technology. It blends hitting a golf ball with the digital, physics-based destruction that Angry Birds delivers. Taking on a variety of light-hearted challenges, players partner with the beloved characters Red, Chuck, and Bomb to demolish virtual structures placed on the Topgolf targets.

“This experience perfectly embodies the Angry Birds brand in terms of its accessible fun and all-round irreverence,” said Rovio CMO Ville Heijari. “The resulting experience is a familiar but uniquely branded experience that we’re excited for our fans to take a swing at.”

Topgolf locations have hitting bays, something akin to a high-tech hitting range. The signature game has players score points by hitting balls into targets. The balls have a microchip in them. You score points based on the accuracy of your shot and the distance. There are a number of different games available based on skill level, including virtual courses where you can play at iconic locations like Pebble Beach and St. Andrews.

My Take
