This is pretty intense – today Rovio officially launched the first trailer for Angry Birds Space, broadcasting it from the International Space Station.

The next game in the Angry Birds phenomenon actually appears to have some additional depth mixed into its mechanics, featuring planets and other floating objects that affect the trajectory and the gravity of the birds you fling through space.

Angry Birds Space will be available March 22 on iOS and Android devices, as well as PC. There has been no word of the official price – I’m betting it won’t be free on any of them. Anyway, check out the first official gameplay footage in the following trailer:
