Animal Crossing: New Horizons celebrates Carnival in free Festivale update

Animal Crossing: New Horizons Carnival free Festivale update

Animal Crossing: New Horizons is getting some Brazilian flair with its latest free update.

“Whether you recently picked up the game over the holidays, or you’re a long-time island resident, we hope this free update fires up your island with its carnival spirit and new seasonal items,” Nintendo says.

The free update introduces the feather-filled Festivale event, which draws clear inspiration from Rio’s Carnival. The event celebrates the Carnival spirit on February 15 as dancer Pavé arrives on your island’s plaza.

On the day of the event, you can capture colorful feathers with your net and trade them with Pavé to receive a dance routine. The update includes a range of new reactions to choose from so that you can express your excitement.

“The Viva Festival Reaction Set can be purchased with in-game Bells from the shelf at Nook’s Cranny for a limited time and includes Feelin’ It, Let’s Go, Viva and Confetti,” Nintendo adds.

That’s not all! In addition to the event and new reactions, there are also new Festivale clothing options at the Able Sisters shop. Tom Nook will help you celebrate Valentine’s Day with seasonal items such as chocolate hearts and heart-shaped bouquets.

“There will also be other items related to Groundhog Day and Big Game Celebration available for certain periods during January and February,” Nintendo confirms.

The new Festivale update goes live on January 28, 2021. Another update for Animal Crossing: New Horizons is planned for March. Stay tuned for more details in the weeks to come!
