This past weekend, Studio Wildcard hosted an Extra Life 24-hour ARK: Survival Evolved charity stream in which they raised nearly $200,000.

“With the help of the ARK community, sponsors, and Extra Life team, [we] placed top four globally and raised over $180,000 for children in need (which beat all of their past records),” Studio Wildcard announced.

In addition to the charity stream, ARK: Survival Evolved had a free weekend. Plus, the highly-anticipated TLC Pass #3 dropped on Saturday. The free update is out on PC and consoles.

During the Extra Life charity event, the Wildcard team also shared sneak peeks at upcoming content. In the opening moments, an ARK: Genesis Part II teaser trailer introduced dramatic new biomes, story missions, and exotic creatures. The expansion is coming in March 2021.

As we reported yesterday, the upcoming expansion pack also introduces new voiceover talent. David Tennant (Doctor Who, Good Omens) plays the villainous Sir Edmund Rockwell. and Madeleine Madden (The Wheel of Time, Picnic at Hanging Rock, Dora and the Lost City of Gold) taking on the in-game robotic AI companion HLN-A/Helena Walker.

ARK: Survival Evolved is available on PC, Xbox One, and PS4. It’s launching next week with Xbox Series X and S enhancements. Plus, it’s available through Xbox Game Pass. The Genesis Part 1 expansion launched earlier this year.

Extra Life is a fundraising event. The proceeds go to the Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. According to the organizers, 100 percent of all donations go directly to the hospitals. You can find out more about the charity and donate at extra-life.org.
