Asterix & Obelix: Slap Them All release date set as Microids drops new trailer

Asterix & Obelix: Slap Them All

Microids is releasing another game from the classic comic, The Adventures of Asterix. This one is called Asterix & Obelix: Slap Them All, and we have a new trailer.

Following the long-awaited remastered edition of the 2003 action-adventure Asterix & Obelix XXL: Romastered, Microids brings us a new title from the Asterix franchise based on the classic comics of The Adventures of Asterix. Today, the publisher announced a new video in which they mention the release date of Asterix & Obelix: Slap Them All.

A classic 2D beat ’em up

The famous Gauls Asterix and Obelix are back for another adventure, which will not be in 3D like the last remaster but will bring with it all of the style of these inimitable characters’ books. The developers picked a visual approach that is extremely close to that of a comic book with hand-drawn characters, landscapes, and animations. Asterix & Obelix: Slap Them All allows players of all ages to explore classic comic book settings such as Gaul’s countryside, Egypt, and Spain.

The game takes place in Gaul in 50 B.C.E., which is completely controlled by the Romans. Only one tiny town of tenacious Gauls remains unconquered by the invaders. Battle Roman legionaries, pirates, brigands, and even the fearsome Normans as Asterix and Obelix.

Consider the fundamental elements that characterize the beat ’em up genre, then add some local co-op and you have the exact definition of the game Microids gives us this time.

Release date

Asterix and Obelix: Slap Them All will be released on November 25 for the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. Plus the game is backward compatible with PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
