Astroneer Nintendo Switch release date announced

Astroneer will come to Nintendo Switch along with the new Xenobiology update.
Astroneer, an interstellar sandbox adventure, is officially coming to the Nintendo Switch in January 2022. System Era Softworks, the game’s indie developers, are rewarding players with unique in-game incentives on day one for pre-ordering the digital edition of the game.
Survive alone or with friends
For those who are unfamiliar, Astroneer is a game in which you play as a little astronaut (or astronauts if you choose to play with others) attempting to survive and explore a new planet you’ve just landed on. Through exploration, you uncover new technologies and materials to develop your base, and you ultimately extend to neighboring planets for their unique resources and terrain.

Despite its distinct appearance and gameplay, the game is still a survival game. Of course, without the continuous fear of death, because the game is about living a fantastic journey on the planet you crash on and then departing from it, rather than merely surviving.
Adapted for Nintendo’s handheld-console hybrid
The Nintendo Switch edition of Astroneer includes the new Xenobiology update, which introduces intriguing animals and new adventures. The game has been completely redesigned for the Nintendo Switch, including support for professional controllers and local Switch-to-Switch play.
Astroneer will be released for the Nintendo Switch on January 13, 2022. It is currently available for pre-order on the Nintendo eShop. The game was previously released on PC via Steam, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
