The 2.5D JRPG Azure Saga: Pathfinder launches today for iOS devices. It retails for $3.99 on the App Store.
The game features an isometric perspective and an intergalactic storyline about family, friendships, love, and loss. The developer says that the game “thoroughly modernizes” traditional turn-based combat.
Here’s a description of the story from the developer:
Far into the future, the human race survives through colonies scattered across the universe. One tale that gives humanity’s remnants hope is of the legendary planet, Azure – a world full of life and abundant resources that could bring humanity back from the brink of extinction. Join a young scientist, Synch, as he travels across the galaxy to meet new companions and find his father in this JRPG heavily inspired by the Star Ocean and Breath of Fire series.
The iOS version requires iOS 10.0 or later. It is compatible with iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch. You need 1.2 GB of free space to install the game.
Azure Saga: Pathfinder was previously released on PC via Steam and Nintendo Switch. It received average reviews from critics. The PC version is averaging a 63 out of 100 on OpenCritic.
