Baldur's Gate 3 update adds barbarian class

A new class alongside more features and improvements arrived with Patch 7: Absolute Frenzy.

The seventh patch for Baldur’s Gate 3 was released yesterday. It includes the addition of the Barbarian playable class as well as the introduction of the soon-to-be-famous goblin-tossing sport. Along with these two new game aspects, other additions, updates, and repairs have been released, bringing Baldur’s Gate 3 closer to version 1.0.

Despite recent announcements from the Larian Studios team regarding the delay in the release of the final edition of Baldur’s Gate, a new patch has come, providing a wealth of content to players anxiously anticipating the game’s release.

Patch 7 introduces new methods to explore Faerun, including a fog of war mechanism that obfuscates undiscovered chambers and changes to darkvision and light/dark detection that make stealth play considerably more successful.

Barbarians

Barbarians are the newest class to enter Baldur’s Gate 3. They are ruthless in battle, inspired by nature’s rage, and have chaotic energy greater than a thousand reality TV stars combined. A powerful class in which many players feel at ease. This is due to the fact that the Barbarian class will have two subclasses: Wildheart and Berserker.

Wildheart Barbarians pick a Beastly Heart to inspire, defend, and lead them, and depending on their decision, they gain distinct fighting powers and facial piercings.

If you want something a little more intense, Berserker Barbarians can channel their rage into a Frenzy, which grants two new bonus actions: Enraged Throw deals bonus damage to enemies and causes them to become Prone, and Frenzied Strike allows Berserkers to attack twice with a bonus action like Improvised Weapon.

Throwing weapons and improvised weapons

Almost anything may be turned into a lethal missile to be launched at your opponents. Improvised Weapons do damage depending on their weight; characters may handle them up to three times their strength ability score. In other words, if you have a high enough strength score, you can hit your foes with something as large as a Mind Killer.

If you prefer a ranged playstyle, patch 7 introduces daggers, javelins, hand axes, and throwing spears, which enable you to attack from afar, making melee combat more dynamic. A number of other modifications have been made to better the gaming experience for Baldur’s Gate fans.

Early Access for Baldur’s Gate 3 is now available on Steam.
