Baldur’s Gate, Neverwinter Nights, and Planescape are coming to consoles

D&D classics are coming to PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch. The “enhanced” ports include Baldur’s Gate, Baldur’s Gate 2, Neverwinter Nights, Planescape: Torment, and Icewind Dale.

Neverwinter Nights will be sold as a standalone game. The others will be packaged in two separate bundles.

The first bundle pairs Planescape Torment: Enhanced Edition and Icewind Dale: Enhanced Edition. The second bundle includes Baldur’s Gate: Enhanced Edition and Baldur’s Gate 2: Enhanced Edition. Both bundles will come out on September 27. Meanwhile, Neverwinter Nights: Enhanced Edition will be released on December 6.

How these games fare some nearly twenty years later – and particularly how they fare on a console – will be interesting to find out. Baldur’s Gate: Dark Alliance came out on GameCube, PS2, and Xbox back in 2001, but the game was specifically developed for consoles.

In other D&D-related news, Baldur’s Gate 3 was officially announced in the run-up to E3. Larian Studios – the makers of the Divinity series – are developing the game.
