Bandai, Namco to Merge

Forbes has learned that Bandai and Namco plan to merge their operations as early as this fall, creating the second-largest toy/game company in Japan. Combined sales will have it trailing only Sega Sammy Holdings.

Bandai is Japan’s leading toymaker with product development rights to popular anime series’. Namco is well-known for its involvement in early arcade development, and has contributed to nearly all current-generation consoles and handhelds.
