Minecraft Batman DLC has an open-world Gotham City

The Minecraft Batman DLC looks like it might be the best crossover yet.

Holy hole in a doughnut, Batman! Mojang just announced that the Batman DLC is now available in Minecraft as part of the Bedrock Edition. Expect Batman, Robin, The Joker, and more of your favorite characters.

Here is a description of the new Batman DLC from the official Minecraft blog:

In this sprawling adventure from DC and Noxcrew you’ll get to experience Gotham City as you’ve never seen it before. Claw your way between blocky rooftops or speed the Batmobile past iconic locations like Wayne Tower and the Monarch Theater as you track down the lairs of old foes. Playing as the Dark Knight himself, you’ll be tasked with an important mission, because Alfred Pennyworth is in trouble and he needs your help!

Your story begins in the Batcave, where a new Nether portal experiment has been thwarted by some familiar criminals. What’s more, they’ve kidnapped Alfred and trapped him in the Nether! Now it’s up to you to track these DC Super-Villains down through the dark city streets, recover their obsidian blocks, rebuild the portal, and rescue him. Don your gauntlets, gather your Batarang, step out from the Batcave, and take a deep breath. Ah, the sweet smell of crime in the morning! And I’m not just talking about creepers ruining my bases (the injustice!) – Gotham City is teeming with mobs, and they’ve joined forces with some of Batman’s greatest nemeses: DC Super-Villains Harley Quinn, Poison Ivy, The Penguin, and more.

Batman DLC Batcave

In addition to exploring an expansive Gotham City open-world map, players can complete the machines in the Batcave, solve The Riddler’s puzzles, or patrol the streets. You can also craft an assortment of Bat gadgets to assist you on your crime-fighting journey.

If you don’t already own it, you can get Minecraft: Java & Bedrock Edition for PC via the Microsoft Store. The Minecraft Batman DLC is available for 1,340 Minecoins from the in-game store (or just click here). The DLC is not currently available on Nintendo Switch, although Mojang says that it will add support soon.
