Are you ready, kids? THQ Nordic is remaking SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle for Bikini Bottom for PC and modern consoles. For hardcore fans, the F.U.N. Edition includes figurines of SpongeBob, Sandy, and Patrick.
According to THQ Nordic, the SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle for Bikini Bottom Rehydrated is a remake of the PS2, GameCube, and Xbox game. You’ll play as SpongeBob, Patrick, and Sandy and use their unique skillsets to thwart Plankton’s plot to rule Bikini Bottom.
If you opt for the Shiny Edition, you’ll get an 8-inch SpongeBob figurine with a golden spatula and flexible tongue, wall stickers, lithographs, SpongeBob SquarePants tennis socks, and the game itself for 150 Krusty Krab burgers. That converts to $150 USD, if you’re curious.
The F.U.N. Edition includes everything in the Shiny Edition plus two of SpongeBob’s closest friends: Patrick and Sandy. The F.U.N. Edition comes with a 7-inch figurine of Patrick and an 8-inch figurine of Sandy. You’ll also get a set of tiki keyrings. It will retail for $299. Yeah, it’s as much as a Switch. :/
The standard edition of Battle for Bikini Bottom Rehydrated will retail for $29.99. All three versions are coming to PC, PS4, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox One in 2020.
Is it worth the steep cost? I guess that depends on how hardcore of a SpongeBob fan you are. We’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments section!
