You can play Battlefield 2042 for free this weekend.
Electronic Arts is offering a Battlefield 2042 free to play weekend on PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S with free PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 access at a later date. The offer coincides with this weekend’s Xbox Free Play Days.
According to Electronic Arts, here is what players can expect:
Play Battlefield 2042 and fight on over 15 maps, including 4 reworked battlefields from the game. Find your playstyle with over 100 weapons and gadgets and pilot over 40 powerful vehicles. Pick your favorite out of 13 Specialists and make the most of their Traits and Specialties across 6 game modes. Want to change the rules of war? Explore the Battlefield Portal Builder and use our tools with your rules.
Players can access all free Battle Pass tiers as well as optionally purchase the Premium Battle Pass. However, you cannot access the Season 3 Premium Battle Pass for free during the Battlefield 2042 Free Access period.
Battlefield 2042 free to play weekend schedule
The free weekend started on December 1, 2022 for PC via Steam and Xbox consoles. Meanwhile, PlayStation consoles gain free access on December 16, 2022.
You can see the full schedule below:
Xbox: December 1, 12:01 AM PT – December 4, 11:59 PM PT.
Steam: December 1, 10 AM PT – December 5, 10 AM PT.
PlayStation: December 16, 8 AM PT – December 23, 8 AM PT.
Any progress that you make and items that you unlock during the free access period will carry over with you if you decide to purchase the full game. So you do not have to worry about losing your rank or unlocked items.
