Battlefield 5 will have three free weekends this month

EA is suddenly pushing Battlefield 5. The game launched last year on PC, PS4, and Xbox One. We haven’t heard much about it since.

Set during World War II, Battlefield 5 has both a single-player story and multiplayer modes. The multiplayer will be the focus of the three free trial weekends.

Each of the weekends will have a specific mode for you to play and weekly challenges with rewards. During the first weekend, you can try out Rush. This mode has you attack or defend objectives. You’ll be able to play on Operation Underground, Rotterdam, Narvik, Mercury, and other maps.

The second weekend features Conquest. This is basically a capture-the-flag mode. You’ll be able to try Conquest on the infantry-focused maps Operation Underground, Rotterdam, Devastation, Marita, and Arras.

The third and final weekend features Grand Operations. This is a multi-phase mode where attackers try to set bombs on artillery and defenders try to stop them during the first stage. In the second stage, the attackers must capture all of the flags on the map at the same time in order to advance. The third and final stage is a battle royale-type deal where players can’t respawn. The last team standing wins.

The first free weekend starts today and ends on October 13. The second free weekend starts October 17 and ends October 20. The third weekend starts on October 24 and ends October 27. The free trial weekends are only available on Origin.
