Bayonetta & Vanquish 10th Anniversary Bundle interview looks at cover art

Bayonetta & Vanquish 10th Anniversary Bundle

Bayonetta has a loyal following. So when Sega confirmed last month that Vanquish and Bayonetta were getting re-released in a 10th-anniversary bundle, it no doubt got a lot of people excited.

In a new interview with Scott Spatola, Jason Rau, and Dan Dussault of Weapons Van, the team behind the cover art for the Bayonetta & Vanquish 10th Anniversary Bundle talks about design decisions for the game’s cover.

“We knew from the outset what the project had to be,” says illustrator Dan Dussault. “It was a slipcover and then the steelbook.”

The physical edition of the bundle includes both games on a single Blu-ray disc and a steelbook case. The cover for the game features Bayonetta and Sam Gideon. The end result is an homage to both games.

“We wanted the two characters to look like they were meant to go together,” says Art Director Scott Spatola. “And we wanted it to look like a choreographed scene.”

Bayonetta & Vanquish 10th Anniversary Bundle will be released on PS4 and Xbox One on February 18. The physical edition will retail for $39.99 and is available for pre-order now. The games will also be available individually as digital versions for $24.99 each.

In addition, Bayonetta is also available on the Nintendo Switch, Wii U, PS3, Xbox 360, and PC. Vanquish can also be found on the PC, PS3, and Xbox 360. Of course, those versions do not have the enhancements that will be found in the 10th Anniversary Bundle.
