With a very well-done stop-motion video, Game Science has revealed the release date window for Black Myth: Wukong.
With the arrival of Unreal Engine 5, there are many prototypes and projects that were developed using this technology. A great number of them come from China. Even so, many of them to this day have not seen the light of day. One of these projects is an ARPG with a game style very similar to Sekiro with the name Black Myth: Wukong.
Game Science, the Chinese developer behind Black Myth: Wukong, has revealed the release date window. With a very funny video, the developer has finally given a concrete timeframe confirming that this game does plan to be released, but fans will have to wait until next year.
An ARPG fans of the Souls genre will love
Previously on Game Freaks 365, we talked about this up-and-coming Chinese project. In fact, we listed it as one of the epic upcoming games flying under the radar. Fans are very excited to see this game finally come to fruition.
As of today, Black Myth: Wukong is more than nine years in development. Yet, it was first announced in August 2020. But, from the very first moment, the game caught the attention of many players because of two very key elements.
First, the graphics and physics got our attention. Despite all the time it has been in development, the game was updated to Unreal Engine 5. With this, Game Science has been able to take full advantage of the performance of this engine. They have achieved an incredible level of detail. In fact, very few current games have such elaborate graphics and physics.
Second, and more important for many players, is that this ARPG shares many mechanics with the Soulsborne genre of games. Even, thanks to its Asian aesthetics, many players who follow the project compare it to Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice. Thanks to this, a lot of players who got hooked on Elden Ring and other Souls-like games will feel at home with Black Myth: Wukong. Therefore, knowing the game’s release date has been the priority of many for a long time.
Finally, this has been achieved! Last night, Game Science released a video revealing the release date window for Black Myth: Wukong. In a stop-motion video, we can see that after showing images of the game, they give us the timeframe: Summer 2024. The release is planned to be in the month of August. Even so, there is still a long way to go before the date arrives. However, it is reassuring to know that this project will finally see the light.
