Revenge of the Cartels and Endless Seasonal Events

The Revenge of the Cartels, a fan-favorite seasonal event, has returned. Joey Ultraviolet and his band of underlings are back for another round, thus the friendly Saurian Maurice will ask you to kill Cartel Operatives, who may be located in locations from both the base game and campaign add-ons.

Maurice can create a gateway to the main event, a confrontation at Villa Ultraviolet against the Eridium Cartel leader himself, Joey Ultraviolet, once you’ve slain enough of them and gathered Hideout Coordinates from their bodies.

The Revenge of the Cartels includes a new collection of themed cosmetic items that are acquired through the same Challenges and thresholds as last year. Here’s how unlocks are broken down:

  • 3 Challenges: ‘Cosmic Ring’ ECHO Device Skin
  • 6 Challenges: ‘Pandora Sunset’ Weapon Trinket
  • 10 Challenges: ‘Framed Tenderizer’ Room Decoration
  • 14 Challenges: ‘Digital Horizons’ Weapon Skin
  • 18 Challenges: ‘Grid Runner’ Vault Hunter Skin

All of Borderlands 3’s themed seasonal events—Bloody Harvest, Broken Hearts Day, and Revenge of the Cartels—can now be accessed whenever and for as long you choose. A new option on the Main Menu allows you to toggle which of these three events you want to enable or disable. These yearly events each contain their own set of themed cosmetic prizes and special drops from their Year 1 and Year 2 versions, which you may now acquire at your own speed.

If you have already participated in these events, your progress on associated Challenges will not be reset, but you can instead earn or re-earn seasonal event rewards from their famous boss battles.

True Trials

Speaking of events, Gearbox Software will activate the effects of all six True Trials mini-events from June 24 at 9:00 AM PT to July 1 at 8:59 AM PT. This implies that all six Trials bosses will receive the same significant health and damage increases, as well as drop their two allotted Legendary items. The treasure at the conclusion of each trial will also be brimming with Legendaries.

Borderlands 3 is currently available for Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Stadia, and PC through Steam and Epic Games. The Crossplay feature is only available for Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PC, Mac, and Stadia.
