Borderlands 3 is out today on PC, PS4, and Xbox One

2K Games has confirmed that Borderlands 3, the latest in the shooter-looter series, is now available worldwide on PS4, Xbox One, and PC.

It’s been five years since a new Borderlands came out. The last game in the series, Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel, was released in 2014 on PC, PS3, and Xbox 360. Borderlands 3 is technically the fourth main entry in the series and the first to be developed specifically for PS4 and Xbox One. It’s a direct sequel to Borderlands 2.

As revealed at PAX West, Gearbox will continue to support Borderlands 3 with free content updates and free raid-like events called Takedowns, the first of which are scheduled to go live this fall. In addition, Gearbox plans to release four major downloadable campaign expansions, available as part of the game’s Season Pass or individually upon release.
