After 15 years as president of Nintendo of America, Reggie Fils-Aime is retiring. His replacement? Bowser.

Of course, Reggie’s departure is bittersweet. He has been the face of Nintendo of America for over a decade now, helping to introduce us to new systems such as the Wii, Nintendo 3DS, Wii U, and most recently the Switch. Fans will surely miss him.
Reggie announced his retirement on Twitter. We have the video message below:

Nintendo’s incoming president, Doug Bowser, praised his soon-to-be-predecessor.
“It has been my great fortune to work with and be mentored by Reggie for four years at Nintendo of America,” Bowser said in a statement. “And rest assured, we will continue to build on his work to evolve and expand our brand, furthering Nintendo’s global mission of creating smiles. There are millions more of those to come.”
