In a parallel universe, E3 kicks off today. And along with it are a number of game announcements, including Destiny 2: Beyond Light.
But that’s not the world we live in. E3 was scheduled for June 9, but it was cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic. The stay-at-home orders and social distancing – which have saved lives – have also made game reveals quite difficult for developers over the past couple months.
So instead of revealing the latest Destiny 2 expansion during Sony’s press conference, Bungie showed it off during a YouTube livestream. It’s undoubtedly a compromise, but the team has still managed to put it all together.
Destiny 2: Beyond Light is scheduled for release on September 22, 2020. We’ll have more details in the weeks and months to come. In the meantime, you may want to check out some new Eververse items in Season of Arrivals.
