Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War launch trailer revealed

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War

Ahead of its November 13 launch, Activision and Treyarch have revealed the launch trailer for Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War.

The anticipated new title concluded its all platform open multiplayer beta last weekend. And while it seems reception has been mixed so far, it can’t be denied that Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is one of the biggest titles releasing this holiday season.

Not only is Treyarch taking us back into the past for this first time since Black Ops 2, but Cold War is also the first Call of Duty title releasing on next-gen consoles, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X. The new trailer shows off a bit more of the campaign. Players get new intel from Ronald Reagan as they work their way through “the battles that never happened” during the height of the Cold War.

We should expect to see new visual enhancements with the more powerful systems like increased frame rates and ray tracing for more realistic visuals. Ray tracing was something that was implemented during last year’s Modern Warfare on PC, and it is very hardware intensive. So it will be interesting to see how well optimized it runs on console.

In the meantime, Call of Duty players can still check out the Halloween event in Modern Warfare. There’s still about a week left to earn all of those seasonal rewards as we work our way through the final battlepass before Cold War’s launch on November 13 for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
