Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Invades Retail Stores

Perhaps the biggest video game launch to date, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is now in stores nationwide on PS3, Xbox 360 and PC. The Nintendo DS and Wii also have a Call of Duty version completely separate from Modern Warfare 2. It appears that sales will be brisk as there were easily over 100 people at my South Bend, Indiana area GameStop for launch. Amazingly, there were more people than were at the Wii launch back in 2006.

Stacks of the game were on display behind the counter as customers walked away with receipts for their purchase. It would be another half hour until the game officially launched as those that pre-ordered the game waited in a line winding through the closed University Park Mall not far from the campus of Notre Dame. I would say that there were easily two hundred games waiting to be sold at this single location.

Game Freaks 365 hopes to have its review of Modern Warfare 2 before the end of the week. While our rival sites are busy rushing their reviews, we want to get the full experience before we render a judgment. Check back on Friday and we should have a review posted.
