Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II ranked play confirmed

The creation of Ranked Play by Activision Blizzard has been a success for the Call of Duty saga. All the data and feedback collected by the different development teams have allowed for improving the system with each release of the latest Call of Duty game.

Despite rumors that ranked play would arrive in December, Treyarch Studios has confirmed that it will arrive in 2023. It’s a decision made in order to offer the best possible gaming experience. It is because of this that the focus of the development studio is on the following elements: Competitive Modes, Ranked Skill Divisions, Visible Skill Ratings, Top 250 Leaderboard, and Competitive Rewards.

However, this is not the only thing that will come with Ranked Play in Modern Warfare II. Also, the development studio plans to bring many more elements to the game’s competitive scene. With the great work that Treyarch always does, we can trust that they will make the right decisions to offer us the necessary tools for the competitive esports scene.

Not everything is good news

As my grandfather would say, not everything is rosy in this announcement. With the confirmation of Ranked Play for MW2, the Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War League Play and Vanguard Ranked Play will retire this November.

Although no explanation was given as to why the shutdown will take place, they have announced that players will have until November 22nd to get their remaining rewards. However, they have thanked the players for the last two years.

“We sincerely thank you for all the data, feedback, and time played that was collected over the past two years. We look forward to sharing more soon!” the Treyarch Studios team said via a tweet.

While Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II ranked play arrives in 2023, it’s time for us to enjoy the return of one of the community’s favorite modes. Call of Duty Modern Warfare II is available for Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC.
