Call of Duty: Modern Warfare will have free DLC maps and modes; 4K gameplay revealed

Activision says that the company is ditching its Season Pass and a la carte map packs in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare.

“We’ve set our sights on not only creating the best game possible this year but also on breaking down walls and bringing the community together,” the Call of Duty developers said in a blog post.

The company says that it will deliver free post-launch multiplayer maps and modes for all players. The post-launch content will also release post-launch multiplayer maps and modes simultaneously across all platforms.

In addition, Activision says that all “functional content that has an impact on game balance” can be unlocked from playing the game. This includes “base weapons and attachments.”

The new Battle Pass System for Modern Warfare – the game’s in-game currency system – will launch later this year. They say that it won’t be available at launch so that players can “work their way through the new game and unlock all the rewards that are waiting for you.”

In addition to detailing post-launch content, the company also released a trailer for the PC version highlighting gameplay running in 4K resolution. Check it out below!
