Beware, sailor! Charybdis, the ancient Greek mythological monster, has been revealed as a new Smite God to join the game’s already massive roster of playable characters.
Charybdis is a gigantic sea creature who commonly appears alongside Scylla, another playable character in Smite, and has participated in numerous epic fights between famous Greek heroes.
Titan Forge Games appears to have designed Charybdis with a creative license. In the game, she is a human representation of the beast, rather than the traditional and enormous worm-like monster.
Straight from the depths of the ocean
Charybdis has power over a terrifying protrusion known as The Maw and may vanish into whirlpools. She, like her father Poseidon, gains strength by tapping into the Tide. When Charybdis reunites with Scylla, her spirit sister, the two of them will give new meaning to the phrase “stuck between a rock and a hard place.”
Charybdis has been riding the Stranger Things x Smite crossover wave since July 13. Smite is a free-to-play game accessible on PC, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
