Co-op hack and slash Black Jewel Reborn coming to NES, SNES, Sega Genesis, Game Boy

The retro-inspired hack ‘n slash Black Jewel Reborn is fully funded on Kickstarter.

Thanks to the support of 785 backers, indie developered PSCD Games exceeded their initial goal of $41,000 on Kickstarter. They raised $65,851 to fully fund the development of Black Jewel Reborn.

The cooperative hack and slash game is set in a fantasy world. It’s coming soon to four classic video game consoles: Sega Genesis/Mega Drive, Super Nintendo, NES, and Game Boy.

The game features three different playable characters. Each of them have three normals attack, a jump attack, and a special attack. You can also call upon your god to destroy everything on the screen in an epic smite.

“After attaining two stretch goals, the finished game will now include a new level on all platforms and a new anthropomorphic dragon warrior with animal power and rage rolled into one,” PSCD Games says.

There is a demo version of Black Jewel Reborn for Sega Genesis/Mega Drive and NES that lets you experience the classic side-scrolling hack and slash gameplay. It looks similar in style to Altered Beast.
