Could This Poster be Confirmation of Black Ops 2?

Today, Kotaku posted an image and added some fuel to the “Black Ops 2” fire, giving the gaming community yet another reason to believe the next Call of Duty title – set for release this fall – will indeed be the sequel to Treyarch’s 2010 shooter.

The image above was apparently forwarded to Kotaku from “a retail source” that recieved the poster this afternoon. It is pretty obvious from the Call of Duty-style font that the poster is based on the series; a closer look at the background image, the date, and the “Return for Debriefing” teaser text seems to be very indicative of a near-future Black Ops 2 announcement.

With yesterday’s announcement of Halo 4’s launch date (November 6), it appears that the rift between Call of Duty and Halo fanboys could be larger than ever in 2012. At this point, the ball is in Activision’s court – will there indeed be a battle between Halo 4 and Black Ops 2 in November? Only time will tell, check back for more Call of Duty news on Game Freaks 365 as we get closer to E3.
