Last year, Activision released the first new Crash Bandicoot game in years. However, Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time only came out on last-gen consoles. That’s about to change.

Developer Toys for Bob has been hard at work bringing Crash Bandicoot 4 to new platforms. Released last September on PS4 and Xbox One, the game gets some upgrades on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X. It’s also coming to PC via Steam and Nintendo Switch.

For starters, the game runs in 4K at 60 frames per second on next-gen consoles. Additionally, players on either next-gen platform will enjoy faster load times. PS5 owners in particular will be in for an extra treat with the DualSense controller bringing adaptive triggers to players’ fingertips.

“Fans will now be able to feel the force of Neo Cortex’s DNA-changing blaster and experience the grip as they grapple with Tawna’s Hookshot,” Activision says. “Additionally, PlayStation 5’s Activity Card feature will give players a clear breakdown of their progress throughout each of the game’s dimensions, providing guidance to achieve objectives and more.”

Release date, price, and next-gen upgrades

Players who purchase or already own Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time on PlayStation 4 or Xbox One are entitled to receive a free next-gen upgrade within the same console family. This includes the ability to transfer saved data. It’s one of many games supporting Smart Delivery.

A specific release date for the new versions of the game was not announced, although you can expect them in 2021. Meanwhile, in terms of pricing, the PC and Nintendo Switch for $39.99. The PS5 and Xbox Series X versions will retail for $59.99.
