Cyberpunk 2077: CD Projekt Red recommends starting new game with 2.0 Update
Cyberpunk 2077 didn’t get off to the best start anyone could have imagined. It was a total disaster that unleashed the hatred of many gamers towards a beloved company. However, CD Projekt RED has worked very hard to change this. Little by little, it has shown.
A great way to redeem itself has been the constant free updates that the game has received. But, the big coup will be the 2.0 update of the title. A version that plans to greatly expand the game, and for this reason CD Projekt RED has today recommended that all players start a new game.
Start from scratch?
In less than 10 days, Cyberpunk 2077 will receive its first and only expansion, Phantom Liberty. It’s an expansion that will add a lot of content to the game, including once again the great Keanu Reeves. CD Projekt RED has even said that this expansion will add up to 10 hours of additional gameplay.
However, much of the attention of gamers is not on Phantom Liberty, but on version 2.0 of the game. CD Projekt RED will also be releasing a 2.0 update to the game at the same time as the new expansion. It’s a version that plans to fix all the bugs in the game that have affected the players’ experience at some point.
A few days before its arrival, the 2.0 update is back in the news thanks to a post from CD Projekt RED on Twitter. In the post, they confirm that players will be able to continue with the same character after the update. However, the team recommends that players start a new game.
The reasoning behind this recommendation is that users will be able to relive their adventures without having their game experience affected. Perhaps players who have not played for a long time will do so, but those who have played for dozens of hours will not make this decision.
Likewise, many players have been happy with this recommendation. But there are a lot of players who are suspicious of this decision due to everything that happened before. Will 2.0 affect the character? This is a recurring question. We will have to wait until September 26th to find out!
