The Detroit Lions found a creative way to reveal their upcoming schedule for fans. They put out a video using Animal Crossing: New Horizons.
First up, they show a character wearing a Lions jersey (#9 for QB Matthew Stafford) literally burying a bear for week one. Detroit plays the Chicago Bears on September 13 as the season opener.
Next, they show a pair of characters in Lions jerseys trying (and failing) to catch another character dressed in a Green Bay Packers jersey. If this is a case of fortune telling, that’s not a good omen for Motown!
The NFL is currently in its off-season while other major sports – baseball, hockey, and basketball – are suspended. But football is holding out hope that they might be ready for kickoff come September. And at least games like Animal Crossing are keeping fans – and apparently teams, too – distracted.
Big shout out to @animalcrossing for holding it down while we wait for football season. #animalcrossingnewhorizons #acnh #animalcrossing pic.twitter.com/RcvUKq91Cb
