Dog Duty is an ’80s and ’90s-inspired tactics game coming soon to PC and consoles

Dog Duty

The real-time tactics game Dog Duty just got an official release date.

Players fight the bigwig octopus commander and his octo-army in an open-world setting. You control a squad of three characters and wreak havoc, destroy installations, and take down evil villains.

The game has a nostalgic ’80s and early ’90s vibe. It draws inspiration from classic games and TV series such as Commandos and G.I. Joe. Meanwhile, Dr. Eggman and Mojo Jojo “played a big part” in the development of the evil octopus army.

“It’s the way these villains think of themselves as the greatest beings alive,” the indie developer Zanardi & Liza says.

Dog Duty is coming to PC via Steam, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox One on September 17. The game is currently in Steam Early Access. It retails for $19.99 at launch.
