Dragon Quest IX Exclusive to Nintendo DS

Forbes.com is reporting that the next Dragon Quest game to be released, Dragon Quest IX, will be exclusive to the Nintendo DS. Square-Enix, once a loyal supporter of Nintendo systems abandoned the company for the PlayStation when the Nintendo 64 was released. Square began mingling with Nintendo with games like Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles for the GameCube and more recently Final Fantasy I and II, IV and V on Game Boy Advance, as well as a remake of Final Fantasy III on Nintendo DS. Square-Enix also has an exclusive Dragon Quest in the works for the Nintendo Wii. Forbes’ article inaccurately states however that, “Not since 1995 has Square Enix published any of the versions of Dragon Quest for use on a Nintendo game platform.” Dragon Quest Heroes: Rocket Slime was released on Nintendo DS a few months ago, receiving a 9 out of 10 from Game Freaks 365.
