Boosted by the strong reception to the Nintendo DS, Nintendo reported Thursday strong earnings for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2005. Nintendo, based in Kyoto, Japan, said its group net profit more than doubled to 87.42 billion yen from 33.19 billion yen a year ago. 5.27 million units of the Nintendo DS have been sold.
