EA is planning a big year with Battlefield 3 and the most realistic sports line-up in the history of games. Here we go!
EA Announcements
Mass Effect 3
-Mass Effect 3 opens the show with a very apocalyptic looking trailer.
-The player can now call in air strikes from the Normandy while on the battlefield.
-A battle with a live Reaper!
– Mass Effect 3: Official Release Date: March, 6th 2012!!!!
Need For Speed: The Run
-The Run will utilize the Frostbite 2 engine; the same engine that the Battlefield games use.
-You’re not just in cars in this game. You will be able to jump out of cars and run in dramatic chase scenes.
-You are also able to get into fistfights with police officers.
-Stealing police cars!!! I mean…that’s horrible. We do not condone that type of action.
-Bad wreck on the train tracks? No problem. Simply press some buttons and run away!
Star Wars: The Old Republic
-The trailer showcases some epic Jedi/Sith battle scenes.
-Still no official release date on this awesome looking MMORPG
SSX
-Complete remake of EA’s snowboarding game.
-Giant avalanche!!!
-GPS technology allows players to Board every mountain range in the world.
FIFA 12
-Most authentic FIFA ever
-Tactical defense, and precision dribbling.
-“Live your passion for soccer through FIFA”
-EA Sports Football Club: a social network for FIFA players. You get level progression and can track your friend’s progression.
Madden 12
-Ray Lewis, Clay Matthews,Peyton Hillis show up on stage talking about victory in full uniform.
-New Collision system and Dynamic Player Performance announced. It’s all about player confidence and the pride they have in their game.
The Sims Social
-New facebook game about the Sims.
-Basically looks like a virtual personification of facebook statuses. I think I’ll pass and have real experiences with real people.
Reckoning
-An open-world fantasy adventure that appears to be a cross between Fable and Elder Scrolls. Yeah…that pretty much describes it.
Insomniac Multiplatformer: Overstrike
-Not too clear on what it is. Class Based, squad action game with a lot of humor and what appears to be some insanely fun gameplay.
Battlefield 3
-Frostbite 2 engine. Complete destruction of environments and very smooth player motion.
-Near photo-realistic rendering.
-Like Autolog, Battlefield now features “Battlelog”
-Open beta starts in September!!!!!
-During the Tank battle shown, it seems as if EA is really trying to put an emotional tie to the story outside of just spawning and killing.
-Riding along in a Tank turret in the middle of the Tehran desert.
– There are really no words for how amazing this game looks and sounds.
-Battlefield 3 Official Release Date: October 21, 2012!!!!!!!!
