Details about PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale (also known as “Sony Smash Bros.” in some circles) have been coming at a very slow and steady pace, but Sony was happy to introduce two brand-new characters that appear in the final roster.

First, Nathan Drake of Uncharted fame has been confirmed – but everyone expected Drake, right? I mean, his agile climbing ability and variety of weapons will definitely come in handy, but Drake was one of those Sony characters that everyone could expect.

So, on that note…how about a Big Daddy?

That’s right, PS All-Stars will feature the iconic character from the BioShock universe, complete with a unique moveset that features plenty of drill-arm action. Big Daddy looks to be slightly cumbersome in combat, but that’s to be expected, considering the bulky diving suit and helmet.

These details were confirmed in a trailer (posted below) that was shown off during Sony’s E3 presser, but the last part is perhaps the most exciting of all: in addition to the PS3 version of PS All-Stars, Sony plans to release a handheld port on the PlayStation Vita – complete with full connectivity to the PS3 version, of course.

More details about this connectivity and the remaining characters included in the roster are sure to be revealed in the coming months, so keep checking back for more information on Game Freaks 365, and be sure to tell us what you think about PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale in the comments section.
