EA Gains Half-Life 2 Distribution Rights

Last year’s Game Freaks 365 Game of the Year, Half-Life 2, today has a new publisher/distributor. The legal wrangling between Vivendi Universal Games and Valve ended in April. Up until now, Half-Life 2 had no publisher.

Electronic Arts picked up the pieces today, adding Half-Life 2 to their fall calendar. This comes as great news for EA stockholders; last week their stock tumbled after the announcement that The Godfather would be pushed into 2006. EA will release Half-Life 2 for Xbox, as well as a Game of the Year edition of Half-Life 2 for the PC, which will include Half-Life 2 and Counter-Strike: Source.
