Electronic Arts’ MVP franchise will return to the diamond long before the snow melts this spring. GameStop has been listing the game as having a January 18, 2006 release for the budget price of $29.99. Today, IGN confirmed this price and date. Take-Two has exclusive rights to the MLB license, so EA has turned their baseball franchise into MVP 06 NCAA Baseball on the PlayStation 2 and Xbox. Last year saw the earliest baseball release that we’ve seen this generation with a late February release by EA to beat MLB 2K5 to stores. Their strategy appears to be the same this year as well.
