Electronic Arts and the PGA today shared details of their partnership to authentically deliver the excitement of the PGA Championship in EA Sports PGA Tour.
The game releases in Spring 2022. It will be the exclusive host of all four major championships in golf: The Masters’ Tournament, PGA Championship, U.S. Open Championship, and The Open Championship. Golf enthusiasts will also play in the most prestigious PGA Tour tournaments to pursue a legendary career.
“We’re excited to partner with EA Sports to support the goal of reaching golf’s next generation,” said PGA President Jim Richerson. “The EA Sports team is working diligently with the PGA to represent the PGA Championship in the game authentically. We’re thrilled that the game will shine a light on our PGA Professionals, who are some of the most important ambassadors for the sport.”
The PGA of America has almost 28,000 PGA Professionals around the nation who strive to spread the joy of the game by coaching, teaching, and other means. EA Sports PGA Tour highlights members of the “Team of 20” PGA Club Professionals. They win a spot in the PGA Championship each year on the leaderboard as the game opens, in acknowledgment of one of the PGA Championship’s most remarkable features.
The game also includes tutorials and coaching challenges created in collaboration with the PGA Education and Player Development Departments to teach skills that are useful not only in-game but also in real life.
