EA’s Madden, Need for Speed Top Games

IGN’s GamerMetrics customer intelligence measurement tool listed EA’s “Madden NFL 2006” as the top game of the season across all platforms. According to GamerMetrics, fans were most interested in “Call of Duty” for Microsoft’s new platform, Xbox 360, while the earlier Xbox players’ favorite was “Ninja Gaiden Black” this year. PS2 gamers named “Shadow of the Colossus” to top their wishlists, spooky “Resident Evil 4” came in first for Nintendo’s GameCube and PC gamers were wowed by “Civilization IV.”

The leading Internet media and services company serving the gamer demographic compiled information from its massive audience to determine which games topped fall wish lists for all game devices including handhelds. According to IGN’s research “Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories” appealed most to the PSP users, “Mario Kart DS” beat “Nintendogs” on the Nintendo DS and “Pokemon Emerald” was highest on lists of the younger GBA audience. The top 5 games overall were Madden NFL 06, Need for Speed Most Wanted, NBA Live 06, Call of Duty 2, and Perfect Dark Zero.
